The Green Bay Packers are coming off three straight seasons of making the post-season. While that is an incredible accomplishment, the team has entered the post-season as the seven seed each one of those years and have failed to make it past the divisional round. The organization knows that early playoff exits won’t cut it, especially in title town.
Going into this season the team is hoping to take that next step. However, managing the salary cap will be instrumental in pursuing another title run. There could be one player’s contract the team needs to reconsider paying out.

Packers’ Most Overpaid Player Identified By NFL Analyst
According to Brad Gagnon of Blecher Report:
Few significant deals are left to be signed this NFL offseason, which means we can settle in and judge the moves made so far.
One fun annual judgment is assessing who are the league’s most overpaid players.
Here’s a team-by-team rundown.
Green Bay Packers: G Aaron Banks
The bar is ridiculously high for Jordan Love and Micah Parsons based on their monster contracts, but neither has disappointed broadly and we wanted to go outside the box a bit more. Enter Banks, a big-money 2025 addition who struggled out of the gate and finished the season ranked 44th among 57 qualified guards at .
The 28-year-old has done little in five years to indicate he should be the seventh-highest-paid guard in the league.

Banks signed a four-year $77 Million contract with Green Bay one year ago (March 2025). The contract also included a $27 million signing bonus and $27 million in guaranteed money. He averages just over $19 million a season and it one of the highest paid guards in the NFL.
It will extremely important for not only the team, but Banks himself, to have a strong 2026 campaign. Otherwise he might be on a new team in 2027.
