The Green Bay Packers made headlines earlier this off-season when it was reported that President and CEO was considering the possibility of selling the naming rights to Lambeau Field. The idea has been to financially keep up with other teams in the league (like SoFi Stadium for the Los Angeles Rams).
The report was met with severe backlash from Packers fans as renaming Lambeau Field feels unacceptable. However, the field in TitleTown District is a different story.
Packers Sell Naming Right Of Football Field In TitleTown District
The football field in the TitleTown District has a new name: Emplify Health Field. This according to a partnership announced on Thursday. Green Bay and Emplify Health (also known as Bellin Health) have been in partnership with one another for nearly 20 years:
“We are proud to strengthen our connection to Titletown and to invest more intentionally in local programs that directly impact and improve the health and well-being of our communities,” said Dr. Scott Rathgaber, CEO of Emplify Health, in the news release.
The Titletown district is a 45-acre area the Packers have developed west of Lambeau Field. It includes restaurants, condos, tech firms, a hotel and acres of public space that includes the football field.
According to the news release, the partnership gives Emplify naming rights in Titletown and a primary connection to Titletown events and programming.
The announcement comes very shortly after CEO Ed Policy made it clear that the organization must look for fresh ideas to increase revenue. Green Bay being the only team owned by the fans means there isn’t an insanely rich owner investing into the future of the team.
Emplify Health field is located directly west of Lambeau field and has hosted community events since it opened in 2017. It sits directly next to Emplify Health’s sports medicine andd orthopedic’s clinic.
