From the outside, golf may look like a nice walk in the park, but the mental toll it can take on someone shouldn’t be overlooked.

Spiranac, who has been open about her mental health and her struggles with confidence in the past, opened up about her “love-hate relationship” with golf during a fan Q&A session on her Instagram Story on Sunday.

Spiranac, who boasts more than 5.5 million followers across her social media accounts and 4 million on Instagram alone, revealed that the game that she loves also led her to seek therapy.

“I’ve always said that golf is the reason I’m in therapy and it’s also my therapy,” she said. “It can be so infuriating at times where you just want to quit and never want to look at your golf clubs ever again.

“But then when I am stressed, or frustrated, or going through something, there is nothing more relaxing than just going to the range, putting my music on and just beating balls for hours.”

Spiranac also agreed with a fan that said every round of golf provides a different challenge.

“This is why golf is so addicting and also why I have such a love-hate relationship with the game,” Spiranac replied, per the New York Post.

“Because you can be standing on the first tee, do everything correctly … and you could just have the best round of your life or the worst. You never know what you’re going to get. It’s full of surprises but it always keeps you coming back for more.”

Why is Spiranac posting less on social media?

During a fan Q&A in February, Spiranac said that she hadn’t been posting on social media as much as usual because she was “in a bit of a funk” and trying to work through it.

In a reply to a question about her absence from socials for almost the entirety of 2026, the former collegiate golf champ said that she has been dealing with anxiety issues for some time and “overthinking everything.”

“I am in a bit of a funk, a rut if you will, and it’s not like a one or two day thing,” Spiranac said on her Instagram Story. “This has been going on for a little bit. I feel like I’ve just been so in my head about everything and I’m just trying to work through it. I think that’s why I haven’t been posting as much because I am just overthinking everything and I just feel like my anxiety has taken control.

“I’m trying to push myself outside of that and post more and get back to what I was doing before. I feel like I haven’t been active because I’ve just been in my own head, in this kind of funky rut and we’re working through it.”

Since then, the blonde bombshell has begun to share more — including some very big news.

Last month she announced a partnership with Pro Shop as an equity owner and ambassador. As part of the deal, Spiranac has launched a new lifestyle and media brand called Paige Co.
