Even though he initially hesitated to accept the terms, Pakistan team’s new white-ball captain, Mohammad Rizwan, has accepted PCB’s updated selection policy. According to a source in the board, Rizwan will not be having rights to vote in the selection of touring squads or playing XI.
“After discussions with the (Pakistan Cricket) Board chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, and senior selector, Aaqib Javed, Rizwan agreed to the new system where his input in the selection process would be strictly advisory,” a source said.
The source gave the indication that Rizwan got assured by PCB and Aaqib that he would get consulted with the teams will be getting finalised, but the ultimate decision will be taken by the selectors only.
“Under the new policy, the selection committee is now responsible for selecting touring squads and the playing eleven,” the source said.
