Pakistan to play with just one spinner in the first test against Bangladesh: Reports

Considering the weather forecast for rain and cloudy skies, the Pakistan team is expected to choose a lineup with mostly fast bowlers for the first Test match against Bangladesh. This game is set to take place from August 21 to 25 in Rawalpindi.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department expects rain, with different levels of intensity, throughout the five days of the game.

As a result, Pakistan is likely to select fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mir Hamza, and Khurram Shehzad, while Salman Ali Agha will be the only spinner in the team.

“It’s doubtful that the single spin bowler, Abrar Ahmed, will get to play due to the weather conditions.

“During the four-day game in Islamabad, Bangladesh A were quickly dismissed on a pitch that helped fast bowlers,” said someone familiar with the selectors’ thoughts.

The four-day ‘unofficial’ Test match between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A finished as a draw on Friday because of bad weather.

Bangladesh A were dismissed for 122 in their first innings, and then the visiting team allowed a lead of 245 runs.

During their second attempt, Bangladesh had scored 153 runs with 5 wickets lost when the referees decided to end the game.

The match’s third day, featuring eight Pakistani Test players, was entirely rained out.

The Pakistani team management is also considering whether to introduce the young opening batter Muhammad Huraira to the field for the first time.

Huraira has been performing exceptionally well lately, having achieved a score of 200 runs for the Pakistan Shaheens in a First-Class match against Bangladesh A in Darwin, Australia, last month.

The likely Pakistan team for the first Test match against Bangladesh: Abdullah Shafique, Muhammad Huraira, Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Muhammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mir Hamza, and either Khurrum Shehzad or Muhammad Ali.
