Pakistan’s Coach fumes over BCCI and team India, Check the details inside

On Sunday, Pakistan made history by beating Australia in an ODI series. This was the ODI series win in Australia after a long gap of twenty two years for Pakistan. In the series decider that was played in Perth, Pakistan bowled Australia out for 140 and chased down the total with eight wickets remaining to clinch the series by 2-1. Pakistan coach Jason Gillespie expressed satisfaction with the display of the team but added that the ODI Series received no promotion in Australia.

“To be honest I quite simply saw no marketing of our one-day series courtesy of cricket australia. Which was quite the shock,” Jason Gillespie was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.

“It’s very clear to me that the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series with India has taken precedence as I noticed no advertisement for this series.

“Fox does a great job promoting this, but it was obvious to us where CA’s focus was. That is CA’s call, but I am sorry I did not see any adverts or promotion of this one-day series.

“It is true that the advertising potential was diminished and the operation is behind the paywall. Moreover tainted and overly complex one is given the even consideration of drawing the timetables of the tours of the player in relation to cricket. But it has felt from Pakistan’s perspective that based on selections and promotion of the series that their priorities have been India. That is visible to everybody, and it’s rather clear.”

He further said the team was confident in winning the game in Perth as Australia had rested their captain Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne in order to recuperate ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

“We were aware that some sort of change was almost inevitable, given Australia’s upcoming engagements. There was always this slight suspicion in the back of my mind that maybe the fast bowlers were going to get flown over to Perth for a single one-day international.

We expected this, because that is the way with cricket nowadays, and it is for the selectors and coaches to look after their resources. It is how Australia decided to approach the series, and it was clear that the three-match one day series wasn’t very important – if at all – to Australia.”

All we can really do as Pakistan is play against the team that is there in front of us and we did that quite well. Not only was it satisfying to defeat Australia but to do so pretty easily. The sad truth is that we could have won the first game too,” Gillespie explained further.
