Paras Dogra will Represent Jammu and Kashmir:
Paras Dogra, who featured for India ‘A’ in unofficial Tests against West Indies ‘A’ in 2013, has had a distinguished career with Himachal Pradesh from 2001 to 2017 and Pondicherry from 2018/19 to 2023/24. The senior men’s selection committee, chaired by Vidya Bhaskar, has announced a notable squad for Jammu and Kashmir. In addition to captain Paras Dogra, the team features vice-captain Shubham Khajuria, alongside key players such as Vivrant Sharma, Abdul Samad, Abid Mushtaq, Yudhvir Singh, and Auqib Nabi. These names bring a mix of experience and emerging talent to the squad, promising a competitive edge in the upcoming Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament.
Revived by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) last year after a six-year hiatus, the Buchi Babu tournament will be played in a four-day red-ball format. This format mirrors the structure used in the Ranji Trophy league stages, ensuring a rigorous test for all participating teams as they battle it out in a traditional cricketing format.
The Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament is a crucial preparatory event for the 12 teams gearing up for the 2024/25 domestic season. Group A features Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Hyderabad; Group B includes Railways, Gujarat, and the TNCA President’s XI; while Group C brings together Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai, Haryana, and the TNCA President’s XI.
