Mike Vrabel of the New England Patriots
The New England Patriots are looking to get back on track after a devastating loss to the Buffalo Bills. And next up is the Baltimore Ravens, who will host the Patriots for a Sunday Night Football matchup.
However, ahead of the game, it seems the Patriots are dealing with some key injuries that will certainly be something to monitor.
Ahead of practice, Robert Spillane was spotted in the locker room, wearing a boot on his left foot. As expected, he was not present at practice, listed on the injury report with an ankle injury.
Cornerback Carlton Davis (hip), linebacker Christian Elliss (illness), cornerback Marcus Jones (knee), linebacker Harold Landry (knee), and linebacker Robert Spillane also did not practice, while defensive tackle Christian Barmore was listed as a limited participant, but it was not injury-related.

Ahead of the Bills game, Vrabel announced that Spillane was questionable, but when inactives came out, the linebacker’s name was not on the list, making it seem as if he was set to play. However, during the game, Spillane remained on the sidelines the entire time, not coming in for a single snap.
After the game, head coach Mike Vrabel was asked why Spillane was active but didn’t play.
“Yeah, we felt like after going through the warmups and everything that that was what was going to be best for him today,” he told reporters. “And we need everybody, and certainly Robert. And we’ll have to try to get as healthy as we can as quickly as we can.”
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson Did Not Practice On Wednesday

The Patriots aren’t the only ones dealing with some injury scares. On Wednesday, Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson missed practice, and the reason listed was due to an illness.
“Lamar had an illness. He was kept home with a ‘flu’ [like] deal. The [doctor] kept him home today away from the guys,” head coach John Harbaugh told reporters.
Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (foot), linebacker Teddye Buchanan (knee), linebacker Roquan Smith (knee), left tackle Ronnie Stanley (knee/ankle) and outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy (quad) also did not practice.
Linebacker Jay Higgins IV (knee) and safety Keondre Jackson (ankle) were limited, and wide receiver Rashod Bateman (ankle) and defensive tackle C.J. Okoye (quad) were listed as full participants.

The Patriots signed linebacker Chad Muma off the Indianapolis Colts‘ practice squad on Tuesday, and then added linebacker Amari Gainer to the practice squad on Wednesday.
“We get down to this time of the year and we have to find some guys who have played in games,” Vrabel said regarding Muma. “(Who) you can use on fourth down in the kicking game. Good speed. Good ability to process and understand what’s going on. I think his experience helps.”
