The Patriots made a series of transactions on their 53-man roster and practice squad Tuesday.
The team signed guard/center Brenden Jaimes to their 53-man roster from the practice squad and placed defensive tackle Joshua Farmer on injured reserve.
The Patriots also signed running back Elijah Mitchell and wide receiver Brandon Smith to their practice squad and released offensive tackle Sebastian Gutierrez.
Rookie left guard Jared Wilson is in concussion protocol, so Jaimes adds depth behind Mike Onwenu and Ben Brown.
Farmer suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s win over the Ravens and now will be unavailable for four games.
Mitchell and Smith add depth after rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson and wide receiver Kayshon Boutte also entered concussion protocol in Sunday’s win.
Mitchell, 27, broke out as a rookie with the 49ers in 2021, running for 963 yards and five touchdowns. He’s since spent time with the Chiefs. Smith, 27, has previously been rostered by the Cowboys, Cardinals and Jets. He’s played in three games but hasn’t accumulated any receiving stats.
