In the wake of our massive Bespoked Dresden coverage, Spencer caught up with Paul from Slow Spin Society to shoot his Weis MFG Hammer Ti flat bar gravel bike. This flat-bar basket blazer is dripping in deeply curated parts and custom details. Check it out out below…
Whilst seeking relief from wandering the aisles at Bespoked Dresden this year, I retreated to the media room and found a Weis Hammer Ti gravel bike leaning against a wall outside the hideout. I was first captivated by another Hammer Ti at the Enve Grodeo this past summer. Its massive 29 x 2.4″ tire clearance, outlandish paint job, and impressive stance continue to catch my eye. This particular bike, parked at the media room at Bespoked, belongs to Paul from Slow Spin Society, and his unique build showed the Weis gravel platform in a different light. You know I love flat bars. This has to be a pinnacle of, dare I say it, hybrid bicycles…

Paul’s build features some seriously fly wheels from Goosynn, with MTB rims laced with titanium-nippled fiber spokes. Those 30 mm-wide rims plump up the Zleen Cheetah tires to fill the spacious tire clearance, giving the stance a track-bike feel, which this build was modeled after. The bike is dripping in Weis bits, from the internally routed one-piece Ti handlebar combo to the low-profile top cap, seatpost, and seatpost collar. The Magura MT-4 levers are mated to some parts bin Shimano 105 calipers, deep custom. The Enve Adventure fork is paint-matched to the rest of the bike. To cap it all off, fittingly, is a Ti Flite saddle. So proper.
