Raw in Boston proved to be a busy night for Paul Heyman. The Vision’s Oracle was all over the show, even getting into another physical altercation with Seth Rollins. Before the WWE Hall of Famer got knocked down by The Visionsary, Paul Heyman opened the show. Paul Heyman stepped into his role as Brock Lesnar’s Advocate to address The Beast’s WrestleMania showdown with Oba Femi. During the opening promo, the loud-mouthed former ECW owner evoked names from Brock Lesnar’s past. The audience gasped as Paul Heyman name-dropped many former WWE talent, including top AEW Superstars.
Paul Heyman Name Drops Ex-WWE Stars Who Have Fallen to Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar’s dominance in WWE has spanned over three decades, with many of his greatest rivals no longer competing in WWE (or wrestling at all). Many dominant wrestlers have stood up to Brock Lesnar, but The Beast is the last man standing.
To illustrate that point, Paul Heyman put out a list of impressive names that have succumbed to Brock Lesnar, mentioning:
- Goldberg
- Braun Strowman
- Dean Ambrose
- Bobby Lashley
- The Undertaker
- AJ Styles
- John Cena
Without a doubt, Brock Lesnar’s list of opponents is a who’s who in pro wrestling. However, the choice of Superstars is what many found quite interesting, as Paul Heyman name-drops two AEW wrestlers, Bobby Lashley and Jon Moxley.
Paul Heyman Name Drops Dean Ambrose to a Big Reaction
Typically, WWE doesn’t allow talents to use AEW stars’ names on television. However, it’s WrestleMania season, and the company is trying to ramp up as much excitement for the event as possible. To get people talking, Paul Heyman mentioned one of the most beloved WWE Superstars of all time, Dean Ambrose.
Mentioning the former Shield member had some WWE fans buzzing that Dean Ambrose is returning to WWE. Take these rumors with a grain of salt. Dean Ambrose’s WrestleMania match against Brock Lesnar played a significant factor in Jon Moxley’s decision to leave WWE.
It seems more likely that the former ECW owner knew mentioning Seth Rollins’ former partner would make the audience react. Boston sure did. Dean Ambrose’s name received the biggest pop out of the former WWE Superstars that Paul Heyman named.
Paul Heyman Reignites Braun Strowman Rivalry?
Last year, Braun Strowman and Paul Heyman engaged in a very public war of words. The ex-WWE Superstar took offense to The Wise Man overlooking the fact that Braun Strowman once caused Roman Reigns to be stretchered out of an arena.
In the end, Paul Heyman doubled down on his hot take, in a continued burial of Braun Strowman. This was just months after the Roast of WrestleMania, where Paul Heyman dressed down The Monster Among Men for sucking and not being on the Mania card that year.
During his WWE tenure, Braun Strowman held the WWE Universal Title. The Everything on the Menu star was groomed to be a major star, catching on as the biggest foil for Roman Reigns.
Unfortunately for the former Wyatt Family member, Strowman’s career would hit a halt after some injuries. Things got worse for the big man after he caused some backstage problems, including insulting the cruiserweight division. Eventually, Braun Strowman would get demoted and even become one of the many to succumb to Brock Lesnar.
According to Paul Heyman, Oba Femi is just another name on a list of failed conquerors of The Conquerer. Whether that’s true remains to be seen. However, Oba Femi left Brock Lesnar backpedaling for a second week in a row.
Oba Femi Clears Brock Lensar Out of the Ring
After Paul Heyman name-dropped AEW Superstars and ex-WWE Champions, he looked ahead to Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania opponent, Oba Femi. The Ruler didn’t take kindly to Paul Heyman’s words and came out to confront The Beast.
Quickly, Brock tried to teach Oba FAF5. The Beast Incarnate swooped the Nigerian onto his shoulders to drop him with an F5. However, Oba powered out the back and Clotheslined Brock Lesnar over the top rope. The former UFC Champion went flying to the outside, where he sat on the arena floor, looking up in shock at the new WWE sensation.
It may seem like Oba Femi is being set up to dethrone Brock Lesnar as the company’s top attraction. Unfortunately, there might be a hiccup in Oba Femi’s momentum.
Brock Lesnar is allegedly retiring in 2026. Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar requested that he not lose until his last match. So, there might have been some concessions made to get Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar on the ever-changing WrestleMania 42 card.
