PCB gives this new responsibility to this former Pakistani all rounder

According to PCB, they have appointed Abdul Razzaq, the former Test all-rounder, as the Chief Scouting Scout for nationwide talent hunting for the national T20 squad. The program is christened “Strike Force” and aims to identify untapped talent in areas across Pakistan where T20 cricket is very popular.

He has been assigned by an official of PCB to shortlist 50 prospective players to finally identify a few who might be part of Pakistan’s T20 national team.

“We have lagged behind T20 for quite a while and with so much T20 cricket being played in the country, and Razzaq himself being a class hitter and all-rounder, can unearth some unknown talent,” the official said.

Currently, Pakistan is at the eighth spot in the ICC T20 rankings, and it has lost the recent T20 series in Australia and South Africa in addition to losing a match in Zimbabwe.

Tape Tennis ball cricket matches in Pakistan hit like fire. Many of the emerging players make even hefty amounts just appearing in the custom events and exhibiting their big hitting.

“Pakistan, if compared with nations, is clearly behind when it comes to sixes, fours, and unorthodox strokes, while the vision was that some of these players remaining holed away in local events would be good enough to play,” the PCB official said.

A few months back, Razzaq was associated with the board as a national selector.
