Pakistan Cricket Board issued No Objection Certificates (NOC) to nine cricketers participating in franchise T20 leagues. This list includes Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, who are going to play in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2024.

Amir and Imad did not get a place in Pakistan’s T20I matches against Australia and Zimbabwe. The duo will now join the T10 league as PCB has granted clearance to play along with Iftikhar Ahmed, Asif Ali, Usman Tariq, and Salman Irshad. Though, Amir and Asif have been finalised by New York Strikers. While Imad has been bagged by Morrisville Samp Army. Instead, Iftikhar has confirmed a deal with Bangla Tigers and Salman Irshad has been signed by Delhi Bulls.

He also secured NOCs for various leagues, including the Global Super League (GSL), International League T20 (ILT20), and Big Bash League (BBL). The leg-spinner Usama Mir has also been given the all-clear to play in the BBL.

Pakistan’s new white-ball captain, Mohammad Rizwan, spoke on coming to terms with what Pakistan was missing ahead of the T20I series against Australia after some big names left the team – Fakhar Zaman, Imad, Amir, and Iftikhar. “These players have contributed immensely. Replacing them isn’t a quick process. It will take time to fill their roles completely,” said Rizwan during a press conference.

PCB’s decision puts support to the players in pursuit of opportunities in international franchise cricket, but it also brings a question as to how they can balance their commitments with national duties, particularly with some key series around the corner.
