PCB’s strange plan to Tackle Security Concerns by BCCI before the Champions Trophy 2025

The recent visit to Pakistan by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has not clearly raised expectations regarding Indian team visiting Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. It has been reported that Jaishankar and his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar had a discussion about this matter on a lot of different occasions. The chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi is said to have joined these discussions at some point.

The Indian government will make the final decision on whether to send the team to play the tournament in Pakistan. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is unable to give any confirmation at this time. Following the arrival of Indian minister, a number of events have occurred.

According to a report by CricBuzz, PCB wrote a letter to BCCI pledging their support if the Indian squad would leave Pakistan and head back to Chandigarh or New Delhi after every match. This arrangement has been confirmed by a PCB official, who also mentioned that the interval between last two matches is going to be more than a week.

Regarding the schedule, a few developments have came out. The program has been disturbed by ICC to all the parties who are taking part. In the end, there were allegations in the national media which indicate that the broadcaster had asked the ICC to move an India match- more specifically- the India-New Zealand match- to a new location. Rawalpindi got suggested by the PCB as an alternative location, but the broadcasters and representatives of ICC denied this request.
