Penta Pulls Off Impressive Win To Retain IC Title At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is taking place tonight at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The IC Title took center stage at the halfway mark of the broadcast, and fans were ready for it.

Penta defended the Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Page at Saturday Night’s Main Event. This was a notable title defense, and All Ego was there to topple the masked babyface.

After beating Dominik Mysterio for the title, Penta became a fighting champion with big defenses against stars like Dragon Lee, Rusev, and El Hijo Del Vikingo. Meanwhile, former NXT Champion Ethan Page earned his shot after pinning Penta during a tag match on Raw.

This match got a bit of time, and both competitors had each other to their limit. At one point, they were both out on the mat as fans cheered them on. Each near-fall brought fans even further into a fever pitch.

Ethan Page is a classic pro wrestling heel, so Penta’s mask wasn’t off-limits at all. He pulled on Penta’s mask on the top rope, which helped him nail an avalanche slam for a near fall. Then Penta took a shot into the exposed turnbuckle, a move that Page orchestrated, for another close 2 count.

In the end, Penta hit a Mexican Destroyer and won the match to retain the title. Ethan Page will live to fight another day, as most great heels do. Tonight wasn’t his night, as Penta’s reign as IC Champion will continue.

What’s your take on how they booked the IC Title match on Saturday Night’s Main Event? Do you think that the title is heading in the right direction now? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
