The reworked version of Phasmophobia’s 6 Tanglewood Drive map is nearly ready to make its presence felt.
Kinetic Games will launch the revised version of the very first Phasmophobia map on March 3, 2026, bringing a host of changes to make it fresh but familiar.
The long-time favorite is smaller than most ghost-hunting games’ maps, consisting of a single-floor house with a garage and a basement. Kinetic won’t be changing the core layout, but given that it’s a relic of what Phasmophobia began as, it needed an overhaul.
Phasmophobia Untangles Its Iconic Map
“The last thing we want to do is remove the magic that players already experience in the game. We understand that Tanglewood is a fan favourite and it’s many of ours too!” Said Corey Dixon, Art Director at Kinetic Games. “The aim of the Tanglewood rework is to raise the map to the same level as the newer locations, and make Phasmophobia the game we’ve always wanted it to be. We’re so lucky to have such a dedicated fanbase, and we’re always conscious of how it could affect our veteran ghost hunters.”
So what can we expect in the reworked Tanglewood map? Well, not only will it feature higher-quality assets, but there will be brand-new ghost interactions found in the map, and Kinetic promises the basement holds a fresh surprise you’ll have to find when the map gets updated.
The 13 Willow Street map is due to be reworked later in 2026, with Grafton and Bleasdale previously receiving the rework treatment. A brand new map is also on the way, and this should be the year it finally heads into a 1.0 release, with the Switch 2 joining the format roster.
Phasmophobia has been around for nearly five and a half years now, and the small team has built the co-op paranormal investigation game into a juggernaut, selling over 25 million copies in that time.
The free 6 Tanglewood Drive update comes to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PSVR2 on March 3, 2026.
