Black Pirates produced the most dominant performance of the weekend as Week 5 of the Uganda Rugby Premiership delivered entertaining clashes across the men’s and women’s competitions on March 7.
Pirates lit up the round with an emphatic 61–23 victory over Mongers, showcasing their attacking firepower in a one-sided contest. The Sea Robbers ran in a flurry of tries and controlled the tempo throughout the match, leaving Mongers chasing the game for most of the afternoon.
Elsewhere, Rhinos edged Walukuba in one of the tightest matches of the round, securing a 19–17 win in a contest decided by narrow margins. Hippos also secured a comfortable result, beating Warriors 20–7.

Kobs emerged victorious in an entertaining clash against Impis, winning 34–24 after a spirited battle between the two sides. Impis pushed hard but Kobs’ clinical finishing ultimately proved decisive.
Victoria Sharks registered one of the biggest wins of the men’s round after dispatching Kakira 37–8, while Buffaloes claimed a narrow 12–7 victory over Heathens in a tightly contested encounter that underlined the competitiveness of the league.
In the women’s fixtures played the same day, Ewes defeated Panthers 29–20 in an exciting match. Nile Rapids also celebrated a strong performance, overcoming Black Pearls 25–17, while Thunderbirds edged Avengers 10–5 in a defensive battle.
