Players Include De’Von Achane, CeeDee Lamb, and Jayden Daniels

Congratulations, if you are reading this article, you are still playing fantasy football in 2025. Staying on top of injuries is crucial at any point during the fantasy season, but it is even more important when every loss can end your season. Below you’ll find the player injuries worth monitoring from Week 14.

Jayden Daniels, QB, Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels made his return to the starting lineup for the Washington Commanders in Week 14. Unfortunately, the second-year quarterback was intercepted on a screen pass in the third quarter against the Minnesota Vikings and was shoved onto his injured elbow trying to make the tackle. Daniels did not return to the game.

Head coach Dan Quinn told reporters that Daniels could have returned to the game, but was ultimately held out for a coach’s decision. At this point, it is fair to question if the Chargers have any reason to let Daniels return to the field for a three-win team while he’s clearly injured. Marcus Mariota would be the starter if Daniels is shut down.

Daniel Jones, QB, Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts were one of the feel-good stories for most of 2025 thanks to the stellar play from veteran quarterback Daniel Jones. Unfortunately for the Colts, that story ended abruptly in Week 14, when Jones suffered a torn Achilles against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jones’s season has come to an end with him finishing as the QB13 in fantasy points per game (17.4). There is no clear quarterback solution for the Colts. Anthony Richardson is still on the injured reserve due to an orbital fracture, and rookie backup Riley Leonard suffered a knee injury against the Jaguars that could force him to miss weeks.

The team is bringing in 44-year-old former quarterback Philip Rivers for a tryout to address their quarterback position and keep their playoff hopes alive. It is challenging to envision a positive outcome for the Colts to close out a 2025 season that began with such promise.

Geno Smith, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

Geno Smith suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder in the third quarter of the Las Vegas Raiders’ matchup against the Denver Broncos in Week 14. Initial testing showed that Smith didn’t suffer any major structural damage, with head coach Pete Carroll telling reporters that his shoulder “locked up” after a hit.

Carroll also mentioned that he would start Smith as long as he’s healthy. Veteran Kenny Pickett would be the starter if Smith is forced to miss time with the injury.

Tyrod Taylor, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

New York Jets quarterback Tyrod Taylor lasted just six snaps against the Miami Dolphins in Week 14 thanks to a groin injury. Backup Justin Fields was also inactive due to a knee injury, which meant undrafted free agent Brady Cook made his NFL debut. Cook completed just 46.7% of his passes for 163 yards and two interceptions in the Jets’ loss.

Time will tell if Taylor or Fields are healthy enough to be under center for Week 15, which means Cook could be making his first career start against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

De’Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins

De’Von Achane was well on his way to a big fantasy day before he was taken to the locker room during the second quarter of the Miami Dolphins’ win over the New York Jets with a rib injury. Achane did not return to the game, but it was unclear whether it was due to his injury or because the Dolphins were winning by a large margin.

Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that Achane avoided any major injury after landing on the ball during a big play. McDaniel stated that Achane may get rested during the week, but has a real chance to play because the Dolphins have a Monday night matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15.

If Achane is out, then Jaylen Wright would likely be the lead back for Miami after racking up 24 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown in Week 14. Rookie Ollie Gordon II (five carries for 17 yards and a touchdown) would also have a role in a split backfield.

CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb suffered a concussion during the third quarter of the Dallas Cowboys’ loss to the Detroit Lions on a contested catch in the end zone. He did not return to the game.

Lamb will now need to progress through the concussion protocol to play on Sunday, but he will certainly benefit from the Cowboys having extra days between games after playing on Thursday night. If Lamb can’t clear protocol, then George Pickens, Jake Ferguson, and Ryan Flournoy would be the biggest winners in the passing attack.

Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins was taken to the medical tent numerous times throughout the Cincinnati Bengals’ Week 14 game against the Buffalo Bills after hitting his head hard on the ground. He cleared all the concussion reviews during the game and was able to finish the contest, but reported concussion symptoms to team personnel after the game.

Higgins is now in the concussion protocol once again in 2025 after missing the Eagles’ matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13 due to a concussion. He can return before Week 15’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, but there is a chance his stay in the protocol could last longer, given how quickly he suffered a repeat concussion.

If Higgins is unable to progress through the protocol, expect Andrei Iosivas and Mitchell Tinsley to take on larger roles in the passing attack. Mike Gesicki also becomes far more interesting in fantasy given how his role expands with Higgins or Ja’Marr Chase sidelined.

David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns’ tight end David Njoku injured his knee on a diving touchdown catch in the second quarter of the team’s Week 14 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. He did not return to the game.

Njoku was already taking a backseat to rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. in the passing attack, so there isn’t a clear improvement for the rookie. Fannin has logged an 89% snap share or higher in three straight games.

Zach Ertz, TE, Washington Commanders

Zach Ertz suffered a gruesome knee injury during the third quarter of the Washington Commanders’ matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14. There was little doubt that the injury would be a season-ender, which was confirmed on Monday with the diagnosis of a torn ACL.

The injury may give 2024 second-round pick Ben Sinnott a bigger opportunity to have a role in the passing attack, but he will need to earn opportunities from veteran John Bates to get onto the field.
