More Pokemon Gen 10 starter rumors are circulating, and these ones come with images. While recent chatter focused on descriptions of what the starters looked like, these are the actual images being thrown around that everybody is talking about right now. That includes Hidden Power Podcast, along with other Pokemon leakers and rumor accounts such as Light and Ball Guy.
The big question is whether these images are real leaks or fan-made concepts built around existing descriptions.
The earlier starter descriptions
The original description set that has been floating around for about a week included three starters:
-
slimy, large, bulbous tail, deep purple eyes, almost feminine
-
a thick green brow, little dark feet, almost like an angry baby
-
puffy front side, tongue out constantly
These descriptions are now being compared directly to the images making the rounds.
How the images line up with the descriptions
The slimy, large, bulbous tail description lines up surprisingly well with what is shown in the images. The bulbous tail looks potentially real, the purple eyes are there, and the design can read as almost feminine. The slimy detail is harder to confirm, but there does appear to be some slimy-looking detail near the bottom. If that is intentional, it raises the question of whether another Grass and Poison starter could be on the table.
The thick brow, little dark feet, angry baby description also loosely fits. The thick brow makes sense, the small dark feet show up, and the expression does come off like an angry baby.
The puffy front side, tongue out constantly description matches the third image the least cleanly, but the tongue is out, and the front does read as puffy.

The biggest red flag
These descriptions have been out for almost a week. That is enough time for someone to take those details, create believable designs, and then post images that look close to what the rumor described. That possibility is hard to ignore.
There have been cases before where early “leaked” starter images looked similar to final forms, especially during the Alola era, but that history also makes it easier for people to build convincing fakes that feel familiar.

The art style question
One of the hardest parts about judging these images is the art style.
-
The outlines and shading can look close enough to feel believable.
-
At the same time, the designs can feel a little Digimon-ish, especially the small blue water one.
-
It is easy to imagine AI producing something in this neighborhood, but it is also possible these are early, unfinished-looking versions.
A major issue is that the designs do not feel fully completed. It feels like there are things missing, which could mean early builds or could mean fan designs that are not fully polished.
The animal inspiration and regional fit
Part of why these images get attention is that the designs can be connected to real-world animals:
-
the grass starter is being read as a gecko
-
the fire starter is being linked to a slow loris
-
the water starter is being described as a frogfish
A gecko concept makes sense, but it also raises a major question: going back to a grass starter that is basically a gecko feels strange when Grookey lines aside, “Trico” already sits in that exact lane as a gecko starter concept.
The slow loris reference is also messy. Slow lorises are associated more with broader Southeast Asia and nearby regions, and frogfish are not uniquely tied to one place either. If the region inspiration is strictly Indonesia, the fit feels shaky. If the inspiration is more “the Pacific as a whole,” it becomes easier to justify.
Where the rumor stands right now
Overall, the images match the old descriptions a little too well, in a way that could point to either a real leak or a well-timed fan creation based on the description post.
Right now, the safest read is that these are probably fake, but not in a slam-dunk way. A split like 60% fake, 40% potentially real fits the situation, mostly because the art style and concept choices feel slightly off, and because the timing gives plenty of room for someone to manufacture “leaks” that match the description beats.
If one design stands out as the most believable, it is the frogfish water starter. The gecko also looks cool, but it brings up the biggest concept concern. The fire starter remains the hardest to read, and the design is the most confusing.
What happens next
With Pokemon Day close, real information is likely to start leaking in more concrete ways, especially anything tied to a trailer. If more images appear from a different angle, with consistent line work, consistent lighting, and a consistent style across multiple sources, it becomes easier to take this seriously. If the only evidence remains these three images that match week-old descriptions, it stays in rumor territory.
