The Barbados Police Service Anti-Gun and Gangs Unit has arrested and charged 26-year-old Jahlanny Tremaine Yarde of Silver Hill Drive, Christ Church, with several serious offences, including unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, and assault.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on August 30, when Yarde was found in unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
On the same day, Yarde allegedly assaulted Rico Clarke, according to the police.
In addition to these charges, the Criminal Investigations Department has linked Yarde to other violent crimes earlier in the year.
Yarde has been charged with endangering the life of Jonathan Griffith, robbing Kaliyah Kirton, unlawfully using a firearm, and brandishing a firearm—all on March 26, 2024.
Furthermore, Yarde has been jointly charged alongside Tynone Alex Searles for the murder of Zakhir Goodridge, which took place on June 12, 2024.
Yarde is scheduled to appear before Magistrate Deidre McKenna at the Oistins Magistrate Courts today Monday, September 16, where he will face these charges.
