It is still hard to believe, but we have been running Raw Cycling Magazine for more than ten years. What began as an online outlet laid the foundations for spin-offs such as our Among the Giants event. Since 2016, we have enjoyed unforgettable trips, embarked on life-changing adventures, and built a strong network of inspiring individuals.
Among the Giants is an adventurous gathering of a small group of influential individuals (brand representatives, content creators, and more) with the main goal of crafting a unique experience in an epic destination, conquering the toughest mountains around. Taking advantage of this perfect scenario, we create top-quality content, photo and video, for all participants.
After a one-year hiatus, our main spin-off project is back this spring, set to take place from May 31st to June 4th.
Pursuing higher latitudes
Since the beginning of Among the Giants, we’ve been following an unspoken rule to choose a destination country we haven’t yet visited in previous editions. Even during our early years exploring the Alps, we intentionally steered away from the most crowded and predictable cycling hotspots, favouring lesser-known climbs and roads that offered the same sense of scale while allowing for a more authentic and intimate experience.
Later, we headed to Spain to take on the mighty Alto de l’Angliru, paying homage to our Spanish roots while celebrating the magazine’s 10-year anniversary. The most recent edition brought us to the heart of the Balkans, discovering the raw beauty of Durmitor National Park in Montenegro.
This time, our sights are set north. The chosen destination is the Vestland county in Norway, a place that remains largely overlooked by the cycling community, yet offers some of the most dramatic landscapes.
Vestland perfectly embodies the spirit of Among the Giants: unconventional, visually stunning, and physically demanding. The region’s unique geography allows riders to transition from sea level to elevations exceeding 1,000 meters in a single climb, all while navigating roads carved between mountains and fjords. Lingering snow from the long Nordic winter often frames the roads well into late spring, creating a striking contrast between seasons that adds atmosphere to every kilometre ridden.

Basecamp and riding experience
Our basecamp will be located in Voss, a small town surrounded by towering peaks and vast water landscapes. Over several days of riding, participants will face routes designed to balance physical challenge with visual storytelling. All the tracks will start directly from the accommodation, without a need for a transfer. Long climbs, rolling highland roads, fjord-side descents and ferry crossings will provide the perfect setting not only for demanding cycling but also for capturing the essence of adventure that defines Among the Giants.
While performance is never the sole objective, the carefully curated routes are designed to push riders outside their comfort zones, encouraging shared experiences that often become the most memorable part of the trip.

Beyond cycling
Among the Giants has always been about more than cycling alone. The event serves as a creative hub where industry professionals, brand representatives, and content creators collaborate in an environment that naturally fosters storytelling. The remote and inspiring nature of each destination allows our media team to produce high-quality visual content that reflects both the riding and the off-bike moments that shape the overall experience.
The constantly changing light conditions, rugged landscapes, and intimate scale of western Norway provide a spectacular stage for this creative process, offering endless opportunities to capture authentic cycling narratives.
If you are part of the cycling industry and would like to be considered for one of the limited spots in Among the Giants 8, we would love to hear from you and explore potential collaborations.
