In what promises to be a really exciting series, Ashes-Rivals England and Australia are set to take on each other in a three-game T20 International series. It will be a home series for England and the first encounter will take place at the Utilita Bowl stadium of Southampton. The match will be played on the 11th of September and it will commence at 11:00 PM.

England

The 2022 T20 World Cup winners will be without the services of their regular skipper Jos Buttler, who got ruled out of the T20 International series due to suffering a calf-injury. In his place, Phil Salt will be seen handling the leadership duties. 

Jamie Overton, the Surrey All-Rounder has received a call up for the T20 International series while wicket-keeper batsman Jordan Cox has been selected as the backup wicket-keeper. 

The fast bowling all-round duo of San Curran and Jofra Archer will be the ones to watch our for, as both of them are looking in really good conditions fitness wise and they will be looking to help their side secure a victory over the Aussies. 

The home side will be without the services of spin bowling All-Rounder Moeen Ali who announced his retirement from International-Cricket earlier this week. 

Overall, the squad of the Three Lions looks really balanced and solid. The Australians will be looking to get better of their fierce rivals while England’s home conditions dominance remains unmatched. 

Australia

The mighty Aussies will be playing under the leadership of Mitchell Marsh as their regular captain Pat Cummins has not yet recovered from an injury. David Warner has retired completely from International Cricket and his void will be felt significantly by the Australians. 

Hard hitting opener Jake Fraser-Mcgurk is regarded as a highly rated youngster and while he wasn’t able to get going with the bat against Scotland, he is certainly anticipated to perform well as the second- opener alongside Travis Head against the Three Lions. 

The premier fast bowler of the Kangaroos, Mitchell Starc has been rested, which will allow Sean Abbot and Josh Hazelwood to fill the left armer’s void. The duo of Spencer Johnson and Nathan Ellis have not been selected due to the respective injuries suffered by them

Regardless, the Mitch Marsh-led team have a really strong and experienced squad at their disposal, which paves the way for really exciting encounters between the two rivals.
