Project Motor Racing gifts V8 Supercars Ford Falcon

It’s back to the (car of the) future with Project Motor Racing, as its next update will add a free touring car.

Project Motor Racing will deliver a free car for all players soon, when the Ford Falcon V8 2013 will be added in its next major update.

The beleaguered sim racing title has recently delivered a new GT3 tyre model, and its next stage will include a new vehicle too – outside of the Year 1 paid DLC pass.

Seen competing in the Australian V8 Supercars championship (now just Supercars) in 2013, it was a mix of the old and the new.

On the one hand, it was built to the then-new Car of the Future (or New Generation V8 Supercar) ruleset. On the other hand, it was the penultimate year for this FG-generation Falcon – succeeded by the FG X on track in 2015.

These are the previous style of car for the popular race series that encompasses the Bathurst 1000 race, replaced in 2023 by Gen3 models.

“The Ford Falcon V8 comes as a token of our appreciation to all players, old and new, for standing by us,” reads the statement.

It should be a unique drive, thanks to the sequentially operated transaxle featuring a spool differential. Power comes from a V8 engine.

It will be part of an ‘Update 1.7.0.0’ for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S which is expected soon, although there is yet to be a firm release date.
