Project Motor Racing update “overhauls” GT3 and GT4 dynamics amongst long list of changes

Several changes are now live on all platforms, with Project Motor Racing’s 1.5.0.2 patch.

The third major post-release update for Project Motor Racing is now live, following team layoffs and a re-focusing of the development plan.

Chief among the changes is what’s being touted as “refined handling” for GT4, GTE, Porsche Cup, GT and NGT car classes, following a similar change for GT3 cars last month.

Additionally, a “full tyre overhaul” for the GT3 and GT4 categories has been implemented, and thank goodness, downshifts are said to be “smoother” – a real bugbear of ours for certain vehicles.

In combination with the vehicle dynamic changes, “overall force feedback feel” for those with a racing wheel is said to be “improved”, with particular attention given to those with a Fanatec, Thrustmaster or Logitech device. FFB menus are now said to be ‘cleaner’.

While some cars can sound deep and throaty, others have been wide of the mark, in particular the naturally aspirated Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH. This now has a different engine sound mix.

Among the litany of unrefined elements within Project Motor Racing is the visual performance, both detail and smoothness. This patch is stating some improvements here too, with different tree textures, colour grading (hopefully to Sebring), and, quote, “lots of fixes to floating objects, LODs, lighting, shading and environment detail across many tracks.”

The full changelog is listed below, with further updates expected imminently.
