Project Motor Racing’s latest update aims to address GT3 behaviour, AI awareness

The Aston Martin Valkyrie’s engine sounds, LMDH traction control implementation and penalty system are also tweaked.

Project Motor Racing’s torrid launch was a mea culpa. While there is something within there that could be built upon, the state it was released in wasn’t acceptable.

Following the Version 1.5 update that arrived moments after its release, today (28th November 2025) comes the second major patch in a week.

This time, there is a long list of significant changes. No, a new graphics engine is not included, but several points that were critiqued are set to be updated.

Whether or not this list has been implemented as stated will have to wait for testing – we’re not passing a verdict here.

Chief among our complaints during the review process was the engine sound of the Aston Martin Valkyrie, the intrusive way traction control kicked in on an LMDh car, how a GT3 car behaved under braking and during downshifts, plus your AI-controlled rival’s inability to know if you’re alongside them.

Each of these issues is purportedly addressed in the Version 1.5.0.1 patch list.

Elsewhere, the Porsche 992 Cup car and the GT4 class offer new base setups – although we suspect these categories still need a more fundamental change, like the GT3s have this time around. This is expected in a future update

The frustrating track limit system has now incorporated a warning for your first strike, instead of an instant penalty.

There’s also a long list of peripherals that are now supported, among those, the Cammus C12 wheel, Sim-Lab SQ-1 Shifter, Simagic P500 Pedals and Cammus LC100 Pedals are the most noteworthy.

While the changes here are potentially significant, it’s hard to imagine that in just three days the experience is now world-beating. As Queen once said, the show must go on…
