A Punjab Kings (PBKS) batter impressed with his stellar batting prowess during the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match between Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
Harpreet Singh Bhatia, who was bought by PBKS for INR 40 lakhs in the IPL 2023 auction, remained unbeaten on 75* on Day 1 of the match to propel Madhya Pradesh to a comfortable score of 232 for 4 at the end of the day’s play.
Bhatia slammed eight boundaries during his stay and will hope to convert his knock into a century on Day 2 of the contest.
Speaking about the match, Harpreet Singh Bhatia and Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Venkatesh Iyer stitched an unbeaten 48-run partnership to end the day well for MP. The MP team will also hope their skipper Shubham Sharma, who retired hurt, can come back tomorrow to continue his innings.Â

Harpreet Bhatia has previously played for India in the U-19 World Cup
Harpreet Singh Bhatia, a left-handed batting all-rounder, made his mark during the 2008-09 Cooch Behar Trophy by scoring over 700 runs and earning the title of the best Under-19 cricketer of the season. He later went on to represent India in the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in New Zealand. With more than a decade of experience in domestic cricket, Harpreet boasts an impressive T20 record, maintaining an average of over 35 with a strong strike rate.
In the 2022-23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Harpreet became Chhattisgarh’s second-highest run-scorer, amassing 196 runs in five innings.
He got his first IPL opportunity in 2017 when Royal Challengers Bangalore signed him as a replacement for the injured Sarfaraz Khan, although he did not play any games. Later, he joined Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2023.
