This morning, I was listening to “Power Alley” on the MLB Radio Network as they did their pre-season organizational evaluations. As luck would have it, the Colorado Rockies were the subject of today’s episode.
The entire show today is worth your time, and you can listen to it via the Sirius XM app if you’re a subscriber. (Sorry, but there’s no way for me to share a transcript.) But one of the things that stayed with me in Mike Ferrin and Jim Duquette’s discussion was how long it would take the Rockies to become competitive.
A generous estimate was four years though perhaps as long as eight seemed more reasonable.
(Both see the Rockies as largely bereft of talent, both in the farm system and on the MLB roster.)
So here’s tonight’s question: How long will it take for the Rockies to become competitive again?
