R Ashwin drops a massive statement on his reunion with Chennai Super Kings

The all-rounder from India, Ravichandran Ashwin, found home coming as the homegrown spinner was bought for Rs 9.25 Crore by Chennai Super Kings at the IPL Auction 2025, today.

Ashwin, who had a phenomenal spell before making it big in the international arena with the team CSK, was thankful for the Chennai-based side and was quite reflective about his success because of what he learned in yellow

“They say life is a circle,” the all-rounder began.

“I’m forever indebted to have donned the yellow jersey between 2008 and 2015. The things I learned at CSK helped me achieve what I have achieved in international cricket,” he added.

He added how nostalgic he felt about Chennai bidding to bring him back to the MA Chidambaram Stadium, just like they had done over a decade ago.

“It has been close to 10 years since I played for CSK. I don’t know how to put it, but CSK picked me amidst a lot of things-including price and homecoming. But what felt nostalgic was the manner in which they fought for me just like they did back in 2011,” the spinner added.

“It was a trip down memory lane, a very special feeling,” he reiterated again.

He touched upon the greatest fan base of the Chennai side, and how eager he was to perform in front of such passionate fanbase.

“I have witnessed a lot of the ‘Anbuden’ fan frenzy in the last decade,” he said.

“I’ve never been to Chennai to play against CSK when I was with the Rajasthan Royals, since nobody really cheers,” said the 38-year-old.

“But, I am waiting to play in front of that ever-increasing fandom,” he added. Ashwin further expressed his delight in being rejoined by the world- cup-winning cricketer. “I am so glad to have been back to play with MS Dhoni and under Ruturaj Gaikwad,” he finished.

Another competitor dragged into the game’s limelight due to the faith placed in him by his old-time India and CSK captain MS Dhoni has spilled the beans about being elated at again meeting that World Cup-winning player.
