R. Ashwin reveals his only wish to fulfill in international cricket

The best thing about Ravichandran Ashwin is that he is produced by India and his statistics prove beyond any doubt the influence he had on the modern day of this game. On statistically, the second highest wickets taker among Indians in international cricket is this cricketer who also holds the highest rank in Test bowling globally currently. However one thing Ashwin wishes to achieve does not concern bowling at all. Just before the first test match between India and Bangladesh taking place in Chennai starting from Thursday, Ashwin opened up by saying that six sixes in an over were what he wanted but jokingly added that it never happened anyway.

“Ek over mein 6 chakke maarna chahta hoon (I want to hit six sixes in an over), par kabhi hua he nahi kabhi” said Ashwin while talking with Vimal Kumar on his You Tube channel

In addition, Ashwin talked about his retirement plans telling that on that fateful day when he will think it impossible for him to continue towards success this sport will receive a formal farewell from him.

Ashwin’s initial Test match was against the West Indies in 2011, and ever since then he has played 100 long-form matches with 189 innings taking 516 wickets at an economy of 2.81

India’s star spinner Ashwin has been picked for Test series against Bangladesh. India-Bangladesh two matches Test series will start at MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on September 19.

A chat with Vimal Kumar on his official YouTube channel, Ashwin stated that retirement isn’t even close to crossing his mind. The 37-year-old further mentioned that he is only concentrating on today.

“It’s a thought that I never think about. It’s just that my focus is on living for one day at a time because as you grow older, you need to put more work every day into what you do. It’s not equal to everything else. The last 3-4 years have seen me working hard,” argued Ashwin.

“No decision has been made (regarding retirement), but the moment I sense a lack of desire to get better then I will walk away, plain and simple,” he added.

The second Test between India and Bangladesh will take place in Kanpur between September 27.
