R Sai Kishore Claims to Be Top Spinner, Ready for Test Cricket

he domestic season in Indian cricket is coming back. The Duleep Trophy kicks off on September 5. The matches will take place in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This tournament is crucial for Indian Test team selections ahead of the series against Bangladesh. Before the season begins, a player made a bold statement in a recent interview.

Sai Kishore’s Goal:

The Duleep Trophy is set to be staged from September 5. The domestic seasons going to be very crucial for all the players. Big names like Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and some more players will feature in the tournament. After that, India will play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The selectors will be eyeing the tournament closely. This is going to be a great chance for the players. 

Tamilnadu player R Sai Kishore is all set to play in this prestigious tournament from Team B. He is an ace spinner in the domestic circuit. He has showcased his excellence in the IPL while playing for Gujarat Titans. He secured a four-wicket haul against Punjab Kings. After sustaining an injury, he came back to the Tamilnadu Premier League and showcased excellence. 

Once more, he is set to be a part of the Duleep Trophy. Before that, he is extremely confident. While talking about this, he said, “I feel so confident because I have never trained in the block I have now. Maybe before getting into the IPL, I would have trained like this. Waking up at 4 am, training, and then, bowling.”

Later he added, “I haven’t put in as many hours as I have this pre-season in the past four-five years. During the IPL, you don’t get time, you focus on recovery. After TNPL, I had a 15-20 day break, and used it to the best.”

The Bold Statement:

Sai Kishor has a promising stats in the first class cricket. In just 39 games, he secured 166 wickets. Kishore feels ready to advance to international red-ball cricket. In the Team B of the upcoming Duleep Trophy, he will play alongside of Ravindra Jadeja. The youngster is eager to learn from Jadeja. In a recent interview, he boldly claimed to be among India’s top spinners and expressed his readiness to play Test cricket for India.

He said, “I feel I am one of the best spinners in the country. Put me in a Test match, I am ready. So, I am not worried too much. Jadeja is there, I have never played alongside him. I have been with him in CSK, but never played together in red-ball format.”

Later he added, “So, it will be a good learning experience in terms of what he does. In saying that, I feel confident. So, I am ready more than ever.”

After a lot of limited cricket over a long time, Team India is moving its focus to Test cricket. In September, they are all set to face Bangladesh in a Test series. Before that, the big names have been named in the Duleep trophy squad. Apart from them, the BCCI selectors are set to search for some emerging talents out of this tournament.
