Former US Open champion Emma Raducanu has dismissed her coach of half a year Francisco Roig. The collaboration did not produce any WTA titles or notable results.
Since she won the 2021 US Open title with Andrew Richardson, Raducanu has worked with an assortment of different coaches.
Torben Beltz (5 months) -Dmitry Tursunov (6 mths) -Sebastian Sachs (about a year) -Nick Cavaday (14 months) -Vlademir Platenik (2 weeks) -Mark Petchey (four weeks).
Less than two weeks after she won her US Open title as a qualifier, she decided to part ways with Richardson.
Since she won US Open, Raducanu has not reached beyond the fourth round of any major tournament and she has lost in the first or second round eight times.
The 23 year old Brit is currently ranked 29 in the world. At 2026 Australian Open, Emma beat Thailand’s Mananchaya Sawangkaew but lost in second round to Anastasia Potapova. Another sign of regression and not progression came at United Cup in early January where Raducanu lost to Maria Sakkari, an opponent she had previously dominated four times all in straight sets.
