Rajasthan Royals Shift IPL 2026 Home Base to MCA Stadium, Pune

The Rajasthan Royals (RR), the Indian Premier League team, were looking for a new home base amid the constant rumors of tension with the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). According to the reports, the RR IPL 2026 home will be shifting from the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur to the MCA Stadium in Pune.

Rajasthan Royals have switched their base for IPL 2026.

In the year 2025, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) made a startling claim against the Royals when an official accused the team of being involved in match-fixing. The rumor was outrightly denied by the franchise. Meanwhile, in a clear case of action and reaction, the Rajasthan Royals reached out to the Maharashtra Cricket Association.

Last season, the Royals led by Sanju Samson conducted two of their home series of seven at Baraspara Stadium, Guwahati. Whenever the deal is made public with RR or MCA, the team is likely to make four appearances at the new base at least. The remaining matches will be played at Guwahati.

An MCA spokesperson came up with a reference to their prior communications with the IPL team.

Spokesman of the MCA quipped, “Sure, the IPL team representatives were present to get information about the stadium size, types of pitches, and the city’s hotels. Our president, Rohit Pawar, is quite adventurous. He is fixing up all possible things for the return of IPL in the city.”

In 2022, Rajasthan Royals played half of their matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur) and half at the Baraspara Stadium (Guwahati), winning only one of their four games in Jaipur and losing one in Guwahati. Their winning percentage in Jaipur dropped from 80 in 2024 to just 20. The team, at the new RR IPL 2026 winning home ground, would be very keen to start afresh and thus, change their stats.

By and large, the franchisee has attracted media attention for a number of reasons during the off-season. It all began with the trading rumors involving Ravindra Radeja and Sam Curran in return for their last captain, Sanju Samson. Subsequently, Rahul Dravid resigned from the coaching staff, and Kumar Sangakkara took his place. Rajasthan Royals made several more alterations in their support staff before the IPL 2026 auction.

Recently, their newest player, Ravi Singh, has won the interest of many after his remarkable performances in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. In a very recent behind-the-scenes clip, Rajasthan Royals disclosed their auction strategy and how they anticipated RCB to place bids for the same.
