He has taken giant steps as a wicketkeeper batter under the new management headed by Gautam Gambhir, the head coach across formats.
A Rajasthan Royals (RR) star’s father has blamed the three biggest Indian cricket players for spoiling his son’s career. The three cricketers he blamed are MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, stating they didn’t give him enough opportunities to showcase his ability at the international level.
Samson Vishwanath, the father of Sanju Samson, has made a shocking statement that has come into the limelight after a video went viral. On a Malayalam news outlet in Kerala, he said these three big players, along with Rahul Dravid, who served as the head coach of the Indian team, wasted ten years of Samson’s career.
“There are 3-4 people who wasted 10 years of my son’s vital career…captains like Dhoni ji, Virat [Kohli] ji, Rohit [Sharma] ji and coach [Rahul] Dravid ji. These four people destroyed 10 years of my son’s life but the more they hurt him, the stronger Sanju came out of the crisis.”
Indeed, it’s a massive statement from Samson’s father, for he has openly maligned the names of the four biggest names in Indian cricket. Previously, Yuvraj Singh’s father accused MS Dhoni of spoiling his son’s career, and a fresh case along the same lines has emerged, even though such accusations are baseless.
Sanju Samson’s meteoric rise under the new management
Sanju Samson has taken giant steps as a wicketkeeper batter under the new management headed by Gautam Gambhir, the head coach across formats. His best has come in the shortest format, where he has finally found fluency and consistency.
Samson always had this talent but failed to convert it into performances at the international level, but that is a thing of the past now. Recently, he scored two consecutive centuries in T20Is, becoming the first-ever Indian batter to achieve this feat in the shortest format.

The decision to play him as an opener has worked brilliantly, for it has brought the best out of Samson. He will now look to keep up the good work and take it to other formats.
He returned to playing in red-ball cricket, showing he wants to sustain consistency now. Gambhir has ample trust in his abilities and will look to draft him in other formats gradually.
