The NFL announced dates for the Los Angeles Rams’ 2026 offseason workout program. The teams have the power to change dates at their discretion at any time.
Offseason workouts are split into three phases, with each of them lasting a few weeks. The first day of Los Angeles’ offseason program begins on April 20 and will last for two weeks. During these first two weeks, the Rams will be limited meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation.
Phase two will last for three weeks and allows Los Angeles to hit the field for individual and group drills. Under league rules, drills and plays can feature offensive players lining up against offensive players and defensive players lining up against defensive players. No contact or team offense versus team defense drills are permitted.
Phase three is the final phase of the program and allows for more comprehensive on and off field work. This phase lasts for four weeks and teams are allowed to conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity. No live is contact is allowed, but teams can conduct 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.
OTA offseason workouts are currently scheduled for May 26-27, June 1-2, June 4, June 8-9 and June 11. Mandatory minicamp will be held June 15-16. Aside from mandatory minicamp, offseason workouts are voluntary per the collective bargaining agreement.
For a team like the Rams, this is a crucial time to get players ready for the upcoming regular season. Fortunately for Los Angeles, most of their starters from the 2025 season are set to return so they can really maximize OTAs and minicamp.
Normally, teams are installing the playbook and getting rookies and newcomers acclimated but the Rams won’t have that problem. Los Angeles is still set to add more new talent via the 2026 NFL Draft but head coach Sean McVay is largely set on both sides of the field.
Matthew Stafford’s announcement that he’d be back for 2026 gave the Rams all the motivation they needed to aggressively improve the roster. General manager Les Snead acquired Trent McDuffie in a blockbuster trade, and later signed his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Jaylen Watson in free agency.
Los Angeles is all-in on a Super Bowl championship and the road to another title begins soon.
Sean McVay wouldn’t be surprised if Matthew Stafford plays for Rams beyond 2026 season
Stafford seems to take his playing career year by year, so some assume the 2026 season could be his last. However, McVay acknowledged he wouldn’t be surprised if Stafford was still with the Rams beyond next season.
