Rangers Winter League Report: Durán, Ortiz, Osuna, Perry

Durán: Aguilas Cibaenas

Infielder Ezequiel Durán is playing for the Aguilas Cibaenas in the Dominican Winter League, the 26-year-old is hitting .338/.399/.463 with an .862 OPS through 36 games.

Durán has two home runs, 22 RBIs and seven stolen bases. He has walked 13 times and struckout 20 times.

He remains in the mix for the starting role at second base next spring alongside Josh Smith, Cody Freeman, Michael Helman and Sam Haggerty.

Ortiz shows discipline and Power in Puerto Rico

First baseman and outfielder Abimelec Ortiz, who was added to the Texas Rangers 40-man roster in November to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, displayed a patient approach with the Gigantes de Carolina.

In 32 games, the 23-year-old has a .252 batting average with four home runs — including a grand slam that he hit today, 20 RBIs, four stolen bases and an .838 OPS.

Ortiz has 31 walks compared to only 11 strikeouts—a 3-to-1 ratio that marks a step forward in his plate discipline.

Perry bounces back in Australia

Right-hander Kamdyn Perry turned his season around in his last start for the Brisbane Bandits in the Australian Baseball League.

The 20-year-old earned his first career ABL win by pitching six scoreless innings, allowing only two hits and three walks while striking out two.

Perry threw 91 pitches, 57 for strikes, and relied on his command to induce nine groundouts and four fly outs.

The performance lowered his ERA from 10.91 to 7.89. Over 21.2 innings this winter, he has 13 walks and ten strikeouts.

Mexican Pacific Winter League: Alejandro Osuna

Alejandro Osuna put up massive numbers in a eight-game stretch with the Charros de Jalisco.

Osuna hit .370/.528/.444 for a .972 OPS with 5 RBIs. While he did not hit a home run during the stint, he reached base at a .528 clip with nine walks and only three strikeouts. He also stole six bases.

Cooper Johnson

Catcher Cooper Johnson played 13 games for Gigantes del Cibao in the Dominican Republic, where he hit .222 with three RBIs. The Rangers signed Johnson to a minor league contract on Nov. 20, 2025, and assigned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
