Ravi Bishnoi’s Heroic Effort Despite Injury Sparks Excitement in 1st T20I Against Sri Lanka

During Saturday’s first T20 International match between India and Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, star spinner Ravi Bishnoi had a poor day both in the bowl and on the field. To further matters, Bishnoi was hurt trying to make a catch with his own bowling. The event happened after Kamindu Mendis got a leading edge on Bishnoi’s googly on the opening ball of the 16th over of Sri Lanka’s innings, and the ball went to the bowler’s right side. Though he sprang, he did not make the grab. Bishnoi was injured by the ball, which struck his right wrist, dropped to the ground, and then bounced off the surface.

The spinner began to bleed as well, so the physio hurried to inspect Bishnoi. The fact that Bishnoi continued to bowl after receiving treatment on the ground was what caught everyone’s attention. In the end, he concluded with figures of 1 for 37 in his four overs allotted.

Speaking of the encounter, at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, India defeated Sri Lanka by 43 runs in the opening T20 International of the three-match series thanks to a brilliant fifty from new captain Suryakumar Yadav.

India reached 213 for 7 in 20 overs thanks to 58 runs from Suryakumar off 26 balls. With a brilliant knock of 49 off 33 balls, Rishabh Pant further aided the team’s cause. Since India had been invited to bat first, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (40 off 21) and Shubman Gill (34 off 16) set a strong foundation that was later exploited by Surya and Pant.

Sri Lanka responded with a strong fight, led by Pathum Nissanka (79 off 48) and Kusal Mendis (45 off 27), but they faded in the latter stages.
