Royal Challengers Bengaluru will host Punjab Kings in Match No. 34 of IPL 2025. Currently, both teams are separated only by net run rate on the points table with four wins in six matches.
Both teams won their latest match as Punjab Kings pulled off the turnaround of the season against KKR in Mullanpur, defending the lowet total in IPL history. Harshit Rana’s powerplay strikes helped KKR negate a strong opening partnership before Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy took over to restrict PBKS to an underwhelming total.
KKR were well-set on the victory path despite losing both openers cheaply, thanks to a strong third-wicket partnership. Enter Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg-spinner engineered a dramatic middle-order collapse that saw KKR lose six wickets for merely 17 runs in 31 balls. Andre Russell opened the game up with a 17-run over, but Arshdeep Singh’s wicket-maiden to Vaibhav Arora sucked out hope from the Knights’ camp. Russell edged Marco Jansen on to his stumps as PBKS had pulled off a heist.
RCB had a less adrenaline-pumping and easier time in their last game – against RR in Jaipur. Yahsasvi Jaiswal made an excellent fifty even as the rest of his teammates could not press on the advantage amidst some tight bowling from RCB. Phil Salt went after the relatively small target in the powerplay and put RCB firmly in front of the game. Virat Kohli too got a fifty and Devdutt Padikkal put in the finishing touches.
As this top of the table clash beckons, RCB will have to contend with the fact that they are yet to win a game at their home ground, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in IPL 2025.

This year, the Chinnaswamy track seems to have a little something for the bowlers unlike in previous years. This game could also provide something on similar lines.
