Readers’ Rides: Landon’s Rune Bicycles Rufus Stone | The Radavist

The allure of classic lines and big tires brought Landon to build up a Rune Rufus Stone for his all-rounder. Let’s check out his exquisite build for this week’s Readers’ Rides!

I am sending over my Rune Rufus Stone. Dare I call it a near-perfect Neo-retro ATB? When starting the hunt for a new bike, I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for.

However, the more time I spent online, the more I realized I yearned for the classic frame shapes of older bikes. I also wanted to be able to fit a wider tire for more comfort and control while hitting some single track compared to my other bike. I eventually stumbled across Rune and its mustard yellow paint and felt called.

I even made a detour to Mack’s Bike and Goods in Evanston, Illinois, on a weekend getaway to Chicago to test-ride it and see how it fit. I fell in love, and a couple weeks later bought it and had it shipped back home to me. The build went great, and when I hit a snag or wasn’t sure on something.

I reached out to Ashley of Rune, and he was always there to kindly give me some pointers on builds he had done or seen across the pond. I couldn’t be happier with this bike and it usually catches the eyes of passersby, which sparks a fun convo about bikes.

My Instagram handle is @bigfootbikin, and my name is Landon.

Best, and happy riding,

Landon Braun
