Rebel Says She “Woke Up and Couldn’t Move” During Emotional Rehab Update

Rebel has shared another heartbreaking update — and this time, the focus isn’t just on her diagnosis, but on what she’s enduring inside rehab.

After recently opening up about worsening symptoms from primary pulmonary lymphoma and Functional Neurological Disorder, the AEW star returned to Instagram on February 25, 2026 with an emotional account of what she described as a chaotic and overwhelming experience at her inpatient rehab facility. She began by acknowledging that healing isn’t linear — and that not every day is positive.

“As you all know, being in the hospital and going through healing journeys, you have ups and downs. And right now, yes, I’m laughing, because today was nonstop just not going my way. You have to be real — not everything is hunky-dory when you’re going through hard times.”

Rebel then revealed that she woke up unable to move — and that the day spiraled from there. She explained that while she has no issue with routine bloodwork, she became uncomfortable when staff couldn’t explain why it was being drawn.

“I woke up and I couldn’t move. The first thing they wanted to do was take my blood. I asked, ‘Do you know what you’re taking my blood for?’ She said, ‘Yeah, I’ll take your blood now.’ But that wasn’t my question.”

According to Rebel, the test turned out to be for standard vitals — something she felt should have been communicated clearly. The frustrations didn’t stop there. She revealed that the therapists she worked with the previous day were not actually assigned to her, meaning she had to be re-evaluated all over again.

“So today was another wasted day because the first person, along with the other therapists, were all new — so I had to get re-evaluated all over again.”

For someone struggling with speech and mobility, repeatedly explaining her condition has become exhausting. Rebel also described missing physical therapy due to scheduling issues and late arrivals, further compounding her frustration.

“Time gets wasted when I have to explain myself, especially because I can barely talk. Having to explain myself every day is exhausting when I just want to get better. Because she was late, the doctor showed up first. Then she came in after the doctor and said, ‘I’m sorry I’m late,’ and we had missed the therapy session.”

When therapy did resume, she said the exercises felt minimal and insufficient. The most upsetting development, according to Rebel, is that her originally planned two-week stay is now being cut short because she’s reportedly “doing better” than other patients.

“They only give you one exercise and say, ‘Okay, you’re done until your next session.’ You’re kidding me — one exercise? How am I supposed to get better? I’m getting upset because I was supposed to stay here for two weeks, but their evaluation yesterday said that because I’m doing better than everyone else here, they’re cutting my stay short.”

She made it clear that while she’s grateful not to be in worse condition, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still need help. The emotional toll of the day ultimately triggered a physical reaction, with her symptoms intensifying under stress.

“I’m grateful that I’m not as bad as other people are, but that doesn’t mean I don’t deserve treatment. I ended up crying loudly. I got so upset and stressed out that my body started tensing up — my jaw, my neck, my back, my legs — and my symptoms got worse. It just becomes overwhelming.”

Rebel continues to battle primary pulmonary lymphoma and Functional Neurological Disorder, conditions that have severely impacted her speech, mobility, and motor skills. While she remains determined to return to strength, this latest update reveals just how difficult the day-to-day fight has become.
