Records were broken as Team India sent the supporters in wild celebration after winning the 4th T20I match against South Africa by a huge margin of 134 runs. In Johannesburg, Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma made sure that India did not disappoint history in T20I cricket. Their onslaught during the match made it a tough day for the record keepers as many records were broken. It ran galore once again in the final T20I of this four-match series as the Indian team under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, raised the bar yet again, emerged victorious over the South Africans by a score of 3-1 in the series.

Heavy hits fell at the Wanderers Stadium leaving South African players in bewilderment.

The two teammates unleashed on the field and reduced any section to silence with their aggression. With a helping hand to Abhishek Sharma’s quick 36, the effort from Samson and Tilak helped India jump up to a mammoth total of 283 for 1 making it the fifth-highest total in men’s T20I history.

Samson and Tilak also became the third pair in scoring a hundred in the same men’s T20I match day. Sabawoon Davizi. Steyn are the first pair to score hundreds against the bulgarian team in 2022.

This feat was repeated by Kendel Kadowaki-Fleming and Lachlan Yamamoto-Lake once again against China earlier this year.

In men’s T20Is, India has posted three 250-plus totals – the highest for any team in the T20I’s history. India went past the total of the Czech Republic, Japan, and Zimbabwe, who managed two 250-plus totals each.

The unbeaten 210-run stand for the second wicket between Samson and Tilak is the first double century partnership for India in T20 international matches.

While playing against South Africa, India hit a record of 23 sixes which is the third highest by a team in a men’s T20 match. That record was held by Zimbabwe, who managed to hit 27 sixes in an innings against Gambia last month.

India’s total of 283/1 remains the most scored by any team in the history of T20 matches played in South Africa. The previous highest score recorded was by the Titans in 2022, who made 271/3 against the Knights in Potchefstroom.
