Reinier de Ridder would succeed more “if he could fix that cardio issue”, per ex-foe

Reinier de Ridder has one noticeable hole in his game that can lead to a hugely positive shift if rectified according to someone RDR has previously tested skills with. The former two-division ONE championship titleholder under MMA rules is coming off of yet another loss in the UFC after an initial hot start in the organization.

A recent setback against Caio Borralho at UFC 326 now puts ‘The Dutch Knight’ on a two-fight skid while clashing with the higher-up contenders at middleweight. Tye Ruotolo, who spoke on Bowks Talking Bouts ahead of his ONE Championship welterweight submission grappling title defense on March 13th, previously grappled de Ridder in the ONE Circle and bested the current UFC combatant by unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 10.
When asked for his thoughts on de Ridder’s loss to the product of The Fighting Nerds on March 7th, Ruotolo said [via Bowks Talking Bouts],

“Yeah, I didn’t get to watch the full match. I did get some bits and pieces. But yeah, Reinier is; he’s always been a gamer. He’s a tough guy. He seems like he gets tired and keeps going always, you know [laughs]. Always gets tired, always keeps going. But yeah, it seems like if he could fix that cardio issue, maybe he’ll have a little bit more success. But he’s doing great over there in the UFC, and yeah, all the best to him.”

Reinier de Ridder makes a big change after UFC 326 defeat

Reinier de Ridder is making a notable amendment to his journey within the UFC after losses to the aforementioned Borralho and Brendan Allen before that. RDR has intentions to move up to a higher weight category and declared this via his personal Instagram as de Ridder stated,

“I came up a little short. I think it could have gone either way but I’m happy that I got my body back most importantly. I was able to go three hard rounds. I think I have a lot more to show. I brought you guys donuts because I need you guys heavy, I need you guys strong because I’m coming at 205 [pounds], baby.”
