Bodyslam.net and Lucha Blog have reported that AAA competitor Nino Hamburguesa was released from his contract after an incident that took place at an independent event on March 3.
Video of the incident, which sees the former AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion delivering multiple elbow strikes to the face of a spectator, has gone viral on social media, with Bodyslam.net noting that Hamburguesa was notified of his termination via Zoom call.
Lucha Blog adds that other wrestlers were informed of his release on March 6.
Hamburguesa had remained with AAA after the promotion’s acquisition by WWE, working matches for the company as recently as February 14.
