Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar is not guaranteed to take place at WrestleMania 42. Despite a high-profile interaction between the two powerhouses during the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble match on Saturday night, plans for a singles bout at the biggest show of the year are reportedly not finalized.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the potential showdown is not “100 percent” confirmed for WrestleMania 42. While the match is still a possibility, sources have indicated that it is not a lock for the card in Las Vegas.
“That’s not 100 percent by the way…it could happen. I’m not saying it’s not happening. I’m just saying that I was told this one’s not 100 per cent, and that was the Lesnar and Oba Femi match,” Meltzer said.
Royal Rumble Interaction
The speculation regarding the match stems from their encounter during the Royal Rumble match. Lesnar got the better of the exchange, hitting Femi with a German suplex before eliminating the former NXT Champion. The elimination ended a strong performance for Femi, who entered at #1 and lasted 39 minutes. Lesnar was eliminated shortly after by the combined efforts of Cody Rhodes and LA Knight.
WrestleMania 42 Plans
WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19. While the Lesnar vs. Femi match remains up in the air, the main event picture has begun to take shape. Roman Reigns, following his Royal Rumble victory, has officially chosen CM Punk as his opponent for the World Heavyweight Championship.
