Report – TNA Recently Blocked Another AEW Match

Another recently canceled match involving TNA talent has come to light.

Earlier today, it was reported that TNA President Carlos Silva has confirmed that several TNA wrestlers have been pulled from scheduled independent events where they were set to face AEW talent. Silva cited “partner conflicts” as the reason, but additional details have since emerged.

According to a report from Fightful Select, MJF had been slated to face his longtime friend Bear Bronson at a GameChanger Wrestling (GCW) event in March, but the match was ultimately blocked by TNA. However, not all cross-promotional matches were affected, as Mercedes Mone vs. Jody Threat was allowed to proceed, with the TNA star picking up the win last week. Several TNA talents reportedly expressed frustration over the inconsistency in these decisions.

Further reports indicate that Silva was also unhappy with AEW scheduling AEW Collision on a Thursday last week — a move said to have been made by Warner Bros. Discovery. AEW sources noted that they would have preferred to air the show after the NCAA March Madness games to benefit from the stronger lead-in audience. Despite AEW not having any say in what happened last Thursday night, Silva wasn’t happy with having head-to-head competition.
