Tony Khan is reportedly steering clear of two of the biggest stories surrounding All Elite Wrestling in recent weeks.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Khan has no intention of addressing questions about Toni Storm or reports that he attempted to purchase WWE in 2023. Meltzer said,
“I was told outright before even asking about the subject that the two subjects Tony Khan will not talk about are Toni Storm and the story about his company putting in a bid to purchase WWE in 2023.” He also noted the inconsistency surrounding Storm’s situation, pointing out that she participated in an autograph signing over the weekend without appearing to sell any injury despite a recent on-screen angle.
Storm was written off television during the March 18 episode of AEW Dynamite, where she was attacked by a mystery assailant. Initial reports suggested that the angle was used to cover a legitimate issue that could sideline her for an extended period, with some indications that she may not be cleared to wrestle again until at least 2026.
AEW reportedly only became aware of Storm’s situation on the day of the Dynamite taping in Fresno, California.
As for the WWE rumors, reports from POST Wrestling claim that Khan — through his Base 10 venture — submitted a $6.9 billion bid to acquire the company in 2023. Despite the magnitude of that story, it now appears to be another topic Khan is unwilling to publicly discuss.
