Ricochet Issues Apology After #FireRicochet Trends Over Social Media Controversy

Ricochet has responded after facing intense backlash online, and he’s now attempting to take accountability following a situation that quickly spiraled across wrestling social media.

After his controversial reply to a fan went viral, criticism continued to build throughout the day, with #FireRicochet gaining traction as fans called for consequences over his remarks. The backlash reached a point where Ricochet ultimately deleted the original post and addressed the situation directly.

In a new statement shared on X, Ricochet acknowledged his actions and admitted he crossed a line, specifically referencing the fan involved and others affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

“I took out my hatred for the IWC on Sandi, and inadvertently others who are effected by MS. She didnt deserve it and for that, I sincerely apologize.”

He continued by promising to change how he handles situations moving forward.

“Moving forward I’ll do better.”

The apology comes after a wave of criticism from fans who felt his initial response was inappropriate, regardless of the context surrounding online harassment. While Ricochet pointed to the constant negativity he and his family receive, many argued that bringing a serious illness into the exchange went too far.

Now that he has issued a public apology and removed the original post, attention turns to how fans and the wider wrestling community will respond—and whether this will put an end to the controversy or keep the conversation going.

Do you think Ricochet’s apology is enough to move past this situation, or should there still be consequences? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
