Rishabh Pant Escapes After New Zealand Misses Review; Replays Show Three Reds in the Second Innings of the Mumbai Test

During the second innings of the third Test between India and New Zealand in Mumbai, Rishabh Pant got fortunate when New Zealand chose not to take a review after an appeal. However, replays later revealed that it was out.

The incident happened in the first ball of the 12th over, Ajaz Patel Patel delivered a slower, shorter ball that led to an LBW appeal, but it appeared to be spinning down the leg side. Although the ball appeared to be spinning down the leg side, Pant was struck on his body while attempting a pull shot. New Zealand opted not to review the decision, potentially missing a key opportunity, as Ajaz Patel himself seemed uncertain and did not encourage his captain to challenge the on-field call. Ball-tracking later indicated the delivery was hitting the leg stump, confirming three reds.
