Riyan Parag after taking 3 wickets against Sri Lanka in 1st T20I

India all-rounder, Riyan Parag became an unlikely hero for India in the bowling department in the first of 3 T20Is against Sri Lanka with his amazing figures of 3/5. In just 1.2 overs, Parag bagged the important wickets of Kamindu Mendis, Maheesh Theekshana and Dilshan Madushanaka as India bowled out the hosts for just 170 runs, winning the match by 43 runs.

In a video shared by the BCCI, Parag featured with skipper Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Axar Patel. It was in the video that Parag revealed the chat that he had with head coach Gautam Gambhir about his bowling, especially in certain zones of the game.

“I love bowling. I bowl as much as I can behind the scenes. At the nets, there was a lot of communication regarding where to bowl and how to bowl. There were preparations for such situations with Gautam sir. If I get bowling in the 16th and the 17th over and the wicket is spinning, then where I have to bowl. The boys made it easier for me, I just had to bowl stump to stump, and the ball was turning as well,” Parag said in the video.

It will be interesting to see if Parag can continue this form in the second T20I against Sri Lanka that will be played later today at the Pallekele International Stadium.
