The India vs Bangladesh Test series will begin on September 19 in Chennai. The series is of very big importance for India to qualify for the finals of World Test Championship (WTC). India will play two Tests against Bangladesh and three Tests against New Zealand at home grounds.
If the team manages to win five out of the remaining 10 Tests, they will have a good chance to qualify for the WTC final. The tour of Australia won’t be easy as India might have to win all the home games in order to boost their chances of playing the third consecutive final. Indian team has had a great head-to-head record against Bangladesh and is yet to lose a game.
The series might see Indian captain Rohit Sharma break a massive record. Rohit can become the Indian with the most sixes in Test cricket if he hits 5 sixes in the upcoming test series against Bangladesh.
The record is currently held by Virender Sehwag, who has scored 91 sixes in 104 matches. Rohit on the other hand, has hit 87 sixes in 59 matches. Rohit would want to hit 13 sixes in this test series in order to become first Indian to hit 100 sixes in Test cricket.
