Rohit Sharma has moved up one spot in the most recent ICC ODI batting rankings and is now very close to Babar Azam, who is currently the top-ranked batter in the world.
Rohit’s improvement in the current ODI series against Sri Lanka has earned him this recognition. The Indian team captain scored 58 runs in the first match and followed it up with an impressive half-century, making 64 runs off just 44 balls, including five boundaries and four sixes. Rohit has now surpassed his fellow Indian player, Virat Kohli, on the rankings, pushing Kohli down to fourth place.
Only two batters are ranked higher than Rohit: Shubman Gill in second place with 782 points and Babar Azam at the top with 824 points.
